Location: Rocksprings, TX

Job Description: 8 week paid summer internship. June 1st – July 31st

This is a full time, full summer internship with somewhat limited days off. Interviews will be scheduled for March.

Work Includes:

Daily herd health checks. Processing fawns (weighing, tagging, and tattooing, collecting DNA sample, giving medications). Cleaning feeders and water troughs along with other ranch choirs.

Exposure to whitetail deer ranch operations and maintenance, including feeding-care of adult animals-observation-pen/barn ranch maintenance.

Qualifications:

Must be:

Reliable and committed to 8 week program – ready for outside work, including very hot Texas weather – hard worker – physically fit (able to lift and carry 50# feed bag) – patient with small & large animals – able to work with others AND alone – able to follow directions – enrolled in an internship through a university – experience raising livestock a plus – interested in the deer breeding industry – desire to learn about animal husbandry
