Fawn Raising Internship – Antler Ranch

Job Description:10 week paid summer internship
June 17 through August 20, 2015

This is a full time, full summer internship with somewhat limited days off. Interviews will be scheduled for late March and April after receipt of cover letter, resume, and references.

Work Includes:
Assist in fawn nursery operations, including bottle raising of approximately 100 fawns- socializing and observation – main barn and fawn barn maintenance and cleaning- watering flower beds – exposure to vet work – record keeping.

Exposure to whitetail deer ranch operations and maintenance, including feeding – care of adult animals – observation – pen/barn ranch maintenance

Qualifications:Must be:
Reliable and committed to 10 week program – ready for outside work including very hot Texas weather – hard worker – physically fit (able to handle 50# feed bags) – patient with small and large animals – able to work with other AND alone – able to follow directions – enrolled in an internship through a university – ok with living alone – experience raising livestock a plus – interested in the deer breeding industry – desire to learn about animal husbandry
