Job Description: 12 week paid summer internship. May-August. Start date may be negotiable.
This is a full time, full summer internship with somewhat limited days off. Interviews will be scheduled for late March & April.
Assist in fawn nursery operations, including bottle-raising of 20-30 fawns-socializing and observation-main barn and fawn barn maintenance and cleaning-watering flower beds-exposure to vet work-record keeping.
Exposure to whitetail deer ranch operations and maintenance, including feeding-care of adult animals-observation-pen/barn ranch maintenance.
Reliable and committed to 12 week program – ready for outside work, including very hot Texas weather – hard worker – physically fit (able to lift and carry 50# feed bag) – patient with small & large animals – able to work with others AND alone – able to follow directions – enrolled in an internship through a university – comfortable with living alone – experience raising livestock a plus – interested in the deer breeding industry – desire to learn about animal husbandry
